Anthem’s AVM 60 Pre-Amplifier/Processor, MRX 720 and 1120 A/V Receivers are now DTS:X compatible!

Anthem’s AVM 60 Pre-Amplifier/Processor, MRX 720 and 1120 A/V Receivers are now DTS:X compatible!

We’re excited to share the news that owners of our AVM 60, MRX 720 and MRX 1120 can now leverage DTS:X with a simple software update.

DTS:X enables listeners to experience a more lifelike, multi-dimensional immersive audio experience, by placing sound where it would normally occur in space. The sound in DTS:X-enabled recordings is meant to mirror real-life, in which sound is everywhere and moves freely in all directions.

A full list of the current DTS:X-enabled content can be found via: http://dts.com/latest-releases.

Our sister company, Paradigm Electronics Inc., offers numerous in-ceiling speakers that can be used as “height speakers” to create the full DTS:X immersive experience.

"I can’t recommend the Anthem AVM 60 highly enough" - Roger Kanno, SoundStage! Access

Roger Kanno was impressed with the AVM 60's two-channel performance.

"It sounded absolutely fantastic with movies, but I expected that. What I didn’t expect was how well it would reproduce two-channel recordings of music. In fact, the AVM 60 performed so well in my reference system as a stereo DAC-preamp that I was more than happy to listen to it as my primary two-channel source for the entire listening period -- a high compliment for a $2999 surround-sound processor. If you’re in the market for a high-quality surround-sound processor, I can’t recommend the Anthem AVM 60 highly enough. I would think long and hard before spending more."

Anthem MRX 1120 is a HomeTheaterReview.com Best of 2016 Award Winner

HomeTheaterReview.com was impressed with both the MRX 1120 and the AVM 60.

"Anthem's new flagship MRX 1120 is "in a class of it's own right now." Its performance is stellar (with both stereo and multichannel audio), and it boasts a lot more features than previous MRX
offerings, including support for 4K/HDR video pass-through, DTS Play-Fi, and Spotify Connect. Of course, you also get the excellent Anthem Room Correction tool. If your amplification needs are already covered, consider the $2,999 AVM 60 AV preamp instead: Our full review is coming in a few weeks, but suffice to say, its performance is just as good."

Sound & Vision Gives the Anthem MRX 1120 Five Stars

"...the MRX 1120, through countless hours of music listening and movie watching, provided the escape I was looking for without introducing any of the fatigue I’ve experienced with lesser products. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better-sounding solution short of going with separates. Highly recommended."

Anthem MRX 720 Receives Reviewers' Choice Award from SoundStage! Access

"When I was offered Anthem’s MRX 720 for review, I mostly looked forward to using it to listen to Dolby Atmos soundtracks at home. And although I really enjoyed my experience of this surround format, by the end of my listening to the Anthem it seemed mere icing on the cake. What most
impressed me about the MRX 720 was its state-of-the-art Anthem Room Correction, its clean amplification, and its effortless streaming abilities. If you’re looking for a great-sounding HT receiver that sounds better than other HT receivers while giving up nothing in features, and is simple to use, give Anthem’s MRX 720 an audition. I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I was."

Praise for the Anthem MRX 1120 Continues to Roll In!

Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity's Carlo Lo Raso applauds the MRX 1120, saying "the Anthem MRX 1120 is the best home theater receiver that I have had the pleasure of ever using. It looks deceptively simple on the outside and while it might not have every last bell and whistle that some of its competitors do, the features it does have are the ones that matter and are well thought out. It’s defining characteristic though is its sound quality and the MRX 1120 is truly top shelf in this regard. I don’t think I’d be overstating it if I said that the sound quality you get from this unit is comparable to having separates from some other manufacturers. ARC 2 room correction continues to show why it is one of the most well regarded of these types of systems. Bass was always tight, powerful and perfectly rendered regardless of the source material. "

Another rave review for the MRX 1120

Inside CI's Steve May reviewed the MRX 1120 and liked what he heard!

"In many ways, Anthem has redefined expectations around home cinema. For many brands, the category has simply become an arms race about features and functionality. Anthem has stripped all that back to offer a sublime level of performance allied to a truly sensational calibration and room EQ solution. The result is a fabulous home cinema centerpiece."

The Anthem MRX 1120 AV Receiver Earns Kudos from Home Theater Review

Home Theater Review's Dennis Burger put the Anthem MRX 1120 to the test and was more than pleased with the results!
Anthem-MRX-1120-thumb.jpg
“Simply put, you'd be hard pressed to find better, more even-tempered, controlled and forceful bass without spending a good bit of money on physical acoustical treatments for your room… I only hesitate to call the MRX 1120's stereo performance "perfect" out of fear that Anthem will top it with its inevitable fourth-generation MRX lineup and I'll have to eat my words…Simply put, the MRX 1120 is kind of in a class of its own right now. At the very least, I'm drawing a complete blank when trying to think of any other 11.2-channel receivers that feature this level of multichannel and stereo sonic performance combined with this much customizability” - Dennis Burger, Home Theater Review to learn more about the MRX 1120.
